I started my company after seeing all the disasters that happened in the lockdown. Raise digital came into existence as a ray of hope for all those companies that were on the verge of shutting down, says Ashutosh Shukla of Raise Digital.
My entrepreneurial venture began in my tenth standard. When all were whistling like a pressure cooker due to board exam pressure, I learned the recipes of life. I wanted to be self-dependent.
So, I thought of ways to earn money. In that process, I entered the e-commerce industry. I was selling goods and doing marketing.
Soon, I realized that I am making profits for the other company, whose products I am selling. Therefore, I thought of having my own company.
At that time, Jeff Bezos was the wealthiest person on earth. He was also into the business of e-commerce. The idea of selling and marketing came from him only.
I decided to learn about digital marketing. While doing so, I realized the importance of digital marketing. I saw how all big companies do online marketing, reach more customers and sell their products to many people.
However, I realized that small companies are as bad in this field as good the rich companies are. People do not know how to bring their business online, do marketing for their products and reach more customers. I wanted to help these ventures. So, I started a digital marketing company to help all businesses to expand limitlessly.
Raise mean flying over or uplift. If companies want to boom up their business online, we can help them in the same.
Initially, the clients were not sure about my capabilities. After seeing my work, all of their worries vanished.
I did not gain wisdom in one day. Before starting the company, I took the learnings essential for running a business. I worked free for a company and did many digital marketing courses.
In the beginning, I was working alone in the company. I had no team. Slowly and gradually, my business increased, and new team members joined the company. I did not tell my parents about starting the company.
They heard about it from someone else. They were happy for me but a little upset also as I was not the one who told them about the company. All they wanted for me was to not lose focus on my studies. Not only my parents but my college also supports me a lot.
I am doing my BTech in computer science from Shri Siddhi Vinayak Group of Institutions. On the very first day of my college, we had orientation. Students were giving their introduction and mentioning their aim in life. Everyone said different things.
In my turn, I said that I want to become an entrepreneur and have my own company. Hearing that, the dean and director of my college stood up and clapped for me. It was a delightful moment for me.
I want to empower small businesses through digital marketing and help them in expanding their business. My vision keeps me motivated. I do my work and assign work to all my team members before going to college and check them after coming back.
Most of the people working in my company are elder than me. I try to motivate them by saying that if I can do it, anyone can. We are devoted to the cause of work.
Other than business, I love to do public speaking. Since the beginning, I have been eager to get on stage. In school and now in college, I actively participate in different events, and I also conduct workshops and seminars in colleges and institutes.
In the tenth class, when I was learning various things, my classmates were only handling the exams’ pressure. They did not think beyond it, and this might be the problem.
We are conditioned to study well and take jobs. In our society, the success of a person is judged by his financial status. Everybody wants to get a job and be financially stable. But there is a lot to do in life other than being successful in terms of our society.
Money is a part of the business, but it is not the only reason for doing business. I feel great when our customers are happy with our services. We try to give them a good customer experience through our services, dedication, and honesty.
Before Raise Digital, I used to think that I will have my company, not work under any person, and put in many efforts. My perspective took a 180-degree turn after starting the company. I realized working hard is a part of life.
We can’t change it, and without working hard, we can’t do anything.
I did not have 100% surety on my business’s success, but I tried and worked hard.
My mentor, Amit Shukla, told me that failures are the lessons that teach you something important. He said that after failing, you would know what is not going to work. So you will try something else. We should never be afraid of failures. They make us stronger and teach us how to move forward. Have the courage to try new things.
Before Raise digital, life was going on. I went to school, came back, slept, and had the fun of life. However, now I feel awake. I am doing the work that I love. I am satisfied with the fact that I am creating jobs, not taking them.
